STAR Scholars: Supporting Talent and Achievement in Rural Scholars
The STAR Scholars program is established!Currently, we are assisting students working towards engineering and healthcare degrees with financial and technical assistance. We worked to provide access to quality education for these rural students, ensuring equal opportunities for learning and personal growth.Skills are central to improving employability and livelihood opportunities, reducing poverty, enhancing productivity, and promoting environmentally sustainable development in rural areas. We strive to aid in the coordination needed to develop an integrated approach that improves access to relevant, good quality education and training to all rural women and the youth of every rural community. Education, entrepreneurship, and physical and social infrastructure all play an important role in developing rural regions. Our goal is to develop projects focused on training programs using established methodologies to train vulnerable rural youth in the agricultural, business, and life skills needed to earn a decent living and become more productive and active members of their communities. We are looking to expand this program and incorporate additional students and rural families into the program.

3R's: Revitalize Rural for Resiliency
This program is dedicated to fostering sustainable development in rural communities. 3R's focuses on establishing rural learning centers that serve as hubs for education, skill-building, and social interaction. These centers offer workshops on modern agricultural practices, technology integration, and small business development, often filling gaps left by government grant programs. 3R's connects rural communities to technology by providing access to technology, digital literacy training, and tech-based resources. The program also emphasizes strengthening heritage through cultural events, historical preservation projects, and promoting local traditions. By creating opportunities and enhancing the quality of life, 3R's encourages individuals to return to and invest in their rural roots, ensuring a vibrant and resilient community for future generations. The success of 3R's was achieved in 2024 for families in need and the partnership between USDA, Rural Charge, and rural communities.Rural Charge successfully played a vital role in helping local families access much-needed funding through the USDA's Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). This significant undertaking involved numerous meetings, countless conversations, and unwavering support to ensure families understood the program's requirements and effectively utilized the grant funds.EQIP offers financial assistance to agricultural producers to implement conservation practices that improve environmental health. This includes initiatives such as:Improving water quality: Reducing soil erosion, controlling nutrient runoff, and improving irrigation efficiency.Enhancing air quality: Reducing dust and greenhouse gas emissions.Conserving wildlife habitat: Creating and restoring vital habitats for native species.Increasing energy efficiency: Implementing renewable energy sources and improving energy management practices on farms.Rural Charge recognized the immense value of EQIP for local families and actively stepped in to provide crucial assistance. Our dedicated team:
Organized informational meetings: Conducted comprehensive sessions to educate families about the EQIP program, its eligibility criteria, and the application process.
Provided individualized support: Offered one-on-one guidance to assist families in navigating the complex application forms and understanding their funding options.
Facilitated communication: Served as a liaison between families and USDA officials, ensuring a smooth and efficient application process.
Offered ongoing support: Continued to assist families after grant approval, providing guidance on project implementation and ensuring successful completion of conservation practices.
This collaborative effort proved to be a resounding success. Many local families were able to secure EQIP funding, enabling them to implement crucial conservation practices on their farms. These projects not only benefit individual families but also contribute to the overall environmental health of our region.Rural Charge is proud of its role in empowering local families and supporting the conservation of our valuable natural resources. We remain committed to providing ongoing assistance to our community and fostering a sustainable future for all.
